Unwanted and discarded
Three poorly puppies - thought to be from unwanted breeding litters - were callouslyabandoned in Farnworth, Greater Manchester, England. A man in a blue car pulled up to the playground while a group of children were there and asked if they wanted the puppies to play with. He then dumped the pooches out of his car and drove away.
The animal welfare charity was contacted following the incident on Tuesday 17 January.
The puppies - a Lurcher and two Chihuahuas - were all aged around six weeks old and too young to be away from their mums, leading the RSPCA to concerns that they were deemed unsellable by the unscrupulous breeders.
Too weak to live
RSPCA inspector Beth Fazackerley attended to collect the puppies and took them to the Greater Manchester Animal Hospital.
Sadly, one of the Chihuahua puppies was very weak and wasn’t able to lift up its head. All three were so poorly that the charity was 'concerned they might die on the way to the hospital’. The vet confirmed the tiny pet was ‘not in a good way’ and the sad decision was made to put it to sleep to end their suffering.
Tragically, the other two dogs also deteriorated even with urgent treatment.
Fazackerley explained:
It turned out they had parvovirus and we are heartbroken that they also passed away.

The RSPCA is appealing for information
The lurcher puppy was microchipped but with no info registered, prompting the charity to ask the public for help.
Fazackerley commented:
It is very concerning that these three puppies - who were all far too young to be away from their mums - were dumped like this. It may be that they have come from someone who is breeding different litters and these puppies were thought to be ‘unsellable’ because they weren’t in the best health.
The charity is urging anyone who has any information to contact them.
Criminals make millions off illegal dog breeding
The RSPCA has long worked hard to highlight and tackle the link between organised crime and the dog trade, with unscrupulous traders making millions of pounds from selling dogs - often with little to no regard for their welfare.
The charity is asking prospective owners to adopt and not shop. They also recommend people do their research and use the RSPCA-backed Puppy Contract to help them buy responsibly, and not inadvertently put money in the pockets of criminal gangs.
The RSPCA is concerned that more animals like these puppies will be abandoned this winter. You can support the charity’s animal welfare work and help them rescue more innocent souls by joining their Winter Rescue.
