At the age of four months, these puppies looked like they were six weeks old.

Unable to walk and with no muscles on their backs, these dogs were callously dumped in a drain. The rescue that took them in doubts that these poor pooches have ever had the normal lifepuppies are meant to have.
Something was very wrong with these puppies
Ren's Rescue took in these poorly puppies after a man called the charity on December 27 to tell them that the pets his daughter rescued from a drain did not look like they were doing well. According to the family, ‘something was very wrong’ with the pooches.
Pamela Maunsell, General Manager and chair of trustees at Ren's Rescue said the puppies looked like they were six to seven weeks old, but in reality, they were actually four to five months old.
The dogs, believed to be American Bulldogs, were starving and appeared to be in very poor health when the charity took them in.
Sadly, two of them died shortly after, and one remains in critical condition.
But that was not all.
‘I doubt they have ever been out or seen the sun’
Maunsell noticed that puppies’ development had been severely stunted because of the neglect they have endured.
She said:
We are desperately trying to find who their mother is. Someone somewhere must know who has bred them. These puppies have been maltreated over a considerable period of time.
According to Maunsell, dogs have got no muscles on their back. Their nails have never been worn down, so they've never been able to walk around.
She added:
I doubt they have ever been out or seen the sun because they have rickets which is caused by a vitamin D deficiency.
The charity is now desperate to locate the owner of the pets, as well as the mummy dog fearing that they ‘will be breeding from her again’.
The puppies have now been handed to the RSPCA York who are investigating the situation. The pooches are currently with a vet and are getting 24-hour care.
Maunsell concluded:
If they make it, they will be rehomed from there.
