Dumped like rubbish
The RSPCA posted a photo showingthe abandoned dog tied up to a pole in the darkness and freezing cold. The animal had a water bowl in front of it. Thankfully, the charity was able to take the pet in. The distressed pooch is now in a kennel.
According to Animal Rescue Officer Cara who uploaded the image on Twitter, it was the second abandoned dog brought into the RSPCA’s branch that night.
She tweeted:
Happy new year again. 2nd dog of the night was abandoned outside Woodgate Valley Fire Station. It’s 1’c outside absolutely freezing weather.
She thanked the fire station for their assistance. Its kindhearted staff ‘were happy to supply the pooch with treats and water and the humans with tea and cake until doggy got the support he needed and whisked off to a warm and safe place’.
‘Makes me so angry!’
The act of animal cruelty caused an outcry amongst everyone involved in the rescue. Cara tweeted:
The puppy was absolutely terrified of everything. Makes me so angry!
Cara’s followers chimed in agreement. One wrote:
Absolutely disgusting! A lot of people will be doing this due to cost of living! No need for it!
Another one commented:
Vile people. I’m so sorry for this darling dog. I’m so sorry this had to happen!!!
Cara later confirmed that the rescued dog was doing well. She said:
He has eaten some food and is in a nice, warm kennel now. He was absolutely petrified and it was a real upset to see him so distressed.
