The 4-year-old dog named Daisy by her rescuers was abandoned by her owner in an especially cruel way. She was placed in a plastic tote and tossed off a bridge from a moving car. It’s a pure miracle that she escaped unharmed. Thanks to the lengthy and risky rescue operation, the pup was recovered and taken to safety.

Ironically, the pup was dumped just a short drive from the shelter, and the animal welfare services are in disbeliefover how someone could be so heartless.
‘Tossed from a moving car’
Orange County Animal Services received a call about an animal in a plastic tote tossed over a bridge from a moving vehicle. The concerned resident had stated they thought there was a dog inside, as they could see it curled up inside from the top of the bridge.
When one of the animal welfare officials headed to the place, which was just a short drive away, they were confronted by a heartbreaking scene. A young female dog was placed inside a small blue plastic tote and thrown away like rubbish.
A rescue team had to risk injury to climb through thick brush, crawl on their hands and knees, and scale a 15-foot wall for 30 minutes to pull the ‘sweet pup’ to safety.
Orange County Animal Services wrote in a statement on Facebook:
We will never understand why people do these cruel things to animals, but we feel fortunate that so many residents see something and say something.
There are literally hundreds of private rescues that would be willing to take in a sweet and gentle dog for foster or adoption. And yet someone chose instead to commit this act of cruelty.

The lucky pup
Amazingly, the pup, who was named Daisy by her rescuers, was unhurt. It didn’t take long for her to recover from the ordeal, and she ‘turned out to be a truly amazing dog’.
She has since got her fairy-tale ending and been adopted into a loving family who’ll give her a chance at real happiness.
According to the animal welfare service, Daisy was lucky someone saw her and took action to save her life.
