Horrific injuries
Terrified six-year-old male terrier Doodles suffered horrific injuries in a sickening attack. The little pup was tied to the back of a car and dragged along the road. Thankfully, he managed to break free and hide. A member of the public who witnessed the heartbreaking episode found the dog cowering in a ditch.
The traumatised pup suffered a concussion, and his little body was covered in extensive wounds.
The kind-hearted animal lover who rescued Doodles contacted the local authorities who then took him to Dogs Trust Ireland.
Much-needed help
Through the charity’s Regional Rehoming Programme, Doodles received much-needed urgent vet care. He also found a loving foster home that nursed him back to health and helped him recover from the trauma.
According to Eimear Cassidy, Regional Rehoming Manager at Dogs Trust Ireland, Doodles was brought in ‘perfect condition’.
Cassidy said:
What happened to Doodles is absolutely appalling, and something that should never happen to any sentient being. Sadly, we are seeing upsetting cases like this more frequently.
Doodles is such a sweet and loving pup that his foster family fell in love with him and couldn’t resist his charms. They decided to offer him a forever home.
The pup got his happy ending at last.
