TobyKeith is the world’s oldest dog
Guinness World Record has declared that TobyKeith, a 21-year-old chihuahua is the world’s oldest dog. TobyKeith was born on January 9 2001. A chihuahuas' average lifespan is between 12 and 18-years-old.
TobyKeith was adopted by Gisela Shore from a shelter when he was only a few months old. TobyKeith’s original name was Peanut Butter, but the Shore family decided to give him a new name to start his new life.
Gisela Shore shared:
I was a volunteer at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue and one of the employees told me about an elderly couple trying to surrender a puppy because they could not take care of him any longer,
The key to TobyKeith’s long life
According to Gisela, the key to her dog’s long life is regular exerciseas well as a nutritious diet. TobeyKeith’s diet includes vegetables, rice and chicken and no sugary treats. Gisela also says that genetics plays a part in TobyKeith’s long life as well as a caring environment.
