As per the report, the news of this dryer broke out in the popular Facebook group, Writing on Extreme Coupons and Bargaining UK, where a member posted a photo of the heated airer and commented,
Aldi £7.99 bargain I think roughly 8p per hour to run. Much cheaper than my tumble dryer.
The post garnered a lot of attention and quickly had 7k comments and 5k likes.
Some of the responders wrote that the actual price of the item is £39.99 on the Aldi website. It seems that the price would depend on where the customers buy it as well as the likelihood of any discounts that might be on offer at Aldi.
As per the product description by Aldi, all 20 bars of the airer are heated for quality drying of clothes, towels and bedding, and it can be folded and stored away in-between uses.
Aldi’s dryer is energy efficient and extremely popular
As reported by Independent, considering a tumble dryer can cost up to £1.26 an hour to operate, the Aldi dryer is a definite bargain.
This is also one of the most affordable heated airer dryer in the market. The report states that Aldi had already offered back in 2021 as well as earlier in 2022, when it had proved so popular that it promptly sold-out.
