The logo of Walmart contains its name written in white letters on a blue background, and at the end, there is a yellow burst that people have previously thought of as a flower. The Sun reported on the truth of the Walmart logo and according to them, turns out that definitely isn’t a flower in Walmart's logo.
Walmart’s original logo has been revamped
The original logo of the mega retail chain has been changed many times in its history. The last revamp was in the year 2008. The previous version of the logo contained the words Walmart written in white on a blue background, with a star hyphenated in between ‘wal’ and ‘mart.’
The current logo of Walmart is actually a renewed version of it. The new one contains the same words written in white on a blue background, except that there’s nothing hyphenated between the two syllables but there is a burst of yellow that tails the word.
The meaning behind Walmart’s logo
According to a statement by the company obtained byGood Housekeeping,
It’s a symbol of the spark of inspiration Sam Walton had when he opened his very first store.
It’s a symbol of all of the great ideas that have helped to develop our company over the years. And it’s a symbol of the inspiration that’s inside all of us.
So, there we have it: the ‘flower’ is actually a spark.
According to Walmart Museum, each part of the Walmart Spark, called ‘the Sparklets,’ has a story to tell about Walmart's values and principles. They represent customer, respect, integrity, associates, service, and excellence.
