Well, what better way to turn that frown upside down than by checking when you’ll next be on holiday? Here we’ll give you a complete list of the bank holiday dates for 2024. If you are savvy about it, you can time the days you take off for holidays to join up with them, making the most of your time off. Be sure to check for where you live, as there are slight differences between the four nations of the UK.

England and Wales
England and Wales have the same number of bank holidays in 2024: a very pleasing eight in total. Here are the days to look out for:
- Monday, January 1 – New Year’s Day
- Friday, March 29 – Good Friday
- Monday, April 1 – Easter Monday
- Monday, May 6 – Early May bank holiday
- Monday, May 27 – Spring bank holiday
- Monday, August 26 – Summer bank holiday
- Wednesday, December 25 – Christmas Day
- Thursday, December 26 – Boxing Day
Scotland
In Scotland, things are looking even better with a whole nine bank holidays this year. This includes a substitute day off for St Andrew’s Day (November 30). This year, the holiday celebrating the patron Saint of Scotland falls on a Saturday, so the following Monday will be a bank holiday instead:
- Monday, January 1 – New Year’s Day
- Tuesday, January 2 – January 2
- Friday, March 29 – Good Friday
- Monday, May 6 – Early May bank holiday
- Monday, May 27 – Spring bank holiday

Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is storming ahead in 2024 with a whopping 10 bank holidays! This includes a substituted day for the iconic St Patrick’s Day (March 17), as it falls on a Sunday this year. Here’s the full list:

- Monday, March 18 – St Patrick’s Day (substitute day)
- Friday, March 29 – Good Friday
- Monday, April 1 – Easter Monday
