This is a simple maths problem but it's driving people mad on social media as lots of people are coming up with the same wrong answers.

If your answer was 1, you're wrong. But don't worry, you're not alone, you've fallen into the same trap as many others. We'll explain all.
The key is that you need to use BODMAS - the order of operation for equations like this. Here's what it stands for:
B - Brackets
O - power Of
D - Division
M - Multiplication
A - Addition
S - Subtraction
So, following this order we need to first deal with the sum in the brackets (2+1). Then, you're left with the problem 6÷2x3. Next comes division so we need to solve 6÷2. That gives us the final some of 3x3... which of course equals 9! So there you go, the correct answer is 9.
