Sad news in Norway: dozens of dogs have died for unknown reasons. Since the start of the month, a strange epidemic appears to have spread in Oslo, causing dogs to exhibit rather violent symptoms that speak to a gastrointestinal disease.

Veterinarians reported that they observed vomiting and bloody diarrhoea in some of the canines that they speculate could be infected by the disease.
No less than 200 dogs have caught this mysterious disease and 26 have died. And nobody understands why: "It's a very special situation I haven't been involved in before," said Jorun Jarp, director of a veterinary institute.
There are currently no signs that this disease can spread to humans
Experts ran tests to try to determine the dogs' cause of death, but the tests didn't reveal anything conclusive and therefore further study is needed.
According to veterinarians, they've helped rule out rat poison, salmonella and Campylobacter. Other tests are currently being conducted to determine whether a fungus, virus, parasite or other bacteria might be to blame.
The strangest part of this is that these dogs appear to have the same symptoms, but may not be suffering from the same disease. For the time being, there are no signs that this mysterious disease can be spread to humans.
