Ambrosia recalls popular products

We all love a conveniently potted dessert. A little custard or rice pud after a meal always hits the spot. However, one of the top brands in this realm has recently issued a recall. Ambrosia is owned by Premier Foods, one of the UK’s largest food producers, based in Hertfordshire. The group has recently faced a crisis as it came to light that some of their potted puds may contain foreign objects.

In an effort to ensure consumer safety, Premier Foods has issued a recall for various Ambrosia My Mini Pots due to the potential presence of plastic pieces. This recall has been initiated as a precautionary measure, as the possible ingestion of plastic poses a choking hazard and makes the affected products unsafe for consumption. Here are the affected items, and what you should do if you have purchased them.

Which products are affected?

The products subject to this recall are the following Ambrosia My Mini Pots:

Ambrosia My Mini Custard Pots

    • Pack size: 6 x 55g
    • Best before dates: All dates between April 2024 and October 2024

Ambrosia My Mini 30% Less Sugar Custard Pots

    • Pack size: 6 x 55g
    • Best before dates: All dates between April 2024 and October 2024

Ambrosia My Mini Rice Pots

    • Pack size: 6 x 55g
    • Best before dates: All dates between April 2024 and October 2024

The circulation of these items is causing concern as ingesting plastic is obviously not good for you and, if you’re unlucky, can pose a serious threat to your health.

Here's what to do if you bought the product

If you have purchased any of the affected products, it is imperative that you do not consume them. Instead, return the items to the store where they were purchased as soon as you can. The store will provide a full refund. Alternatively, you can reach out to Ambrosia to get your money back.

You can get in touch with Ambrosia online through their website at www.ambrosia.co.uk. You can also contact their customer services directly by calling 0800 085 3959.

Premier Foods, who own several other well-known brands, including Mr Kipling, Angel Delight, Homepride and Bisto, have said:

No other Ambrosia products are affected. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
