They were looking into the relationship between Hanson and his wife Rebecca Ludlam, and the former has now been charged with seven offences.

Hanson has now reportedly moved out of their six-bedroom home in Derbyshire, with a witness telling The Sun:
I can't comment. But what I can say is that he's moved out. He's not here anymore.

Charles Hanson is facing seven charges
Police have said that Hanson is being charged with seven offences. These include two counts of assault by beating, two of assault causing actual bodily harm, and one of controlling and coercive behaviour.
The 45-year-old was released on police bail to appear at Southern Derbyshire magistrates court on 10 January where he pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour.
Hanson appeared appeared again at the court on Wednesday 7 February and 'only spoke to plead not guilty to the charges'. He is set to stand trial on 10 February 2025 at Derby Crown Court.
Who is Hanson’s wife Rebecca Ludlam?
Hanson met Ludlam through mutual friends in 2008. Ladlam was then working as a diagnostic radiographer and though Hanson was reportedly late to their first date, he was captivated by her beauty. He told the Derbyshire Telegraph:
She is a beautiful, blonde, elegant and lovely lady. I’m used to dealing with beautiful things but Rebecca is the most beautiful treasure of all, and I’m very lucky she is my wife.
The couple lost their first child, who was ‘born asleep’ in 2012. The timing was especially challenging as their grief overlapped with Charles’ subsequent diagnosis of testicular cancer. They have since had two children together, Matilda and Frederick.
