As a result, the British Government implemented the Household Support Fund to help those most in need. Each area of the UK receives a pot of funding to spend. The latest payment for certain households is due and you have until the end of September to apply., here’s how you can apply for your £100 summer payment.
As reported by the Nottinghamshire County Council, over 27,000 households are eligible for this summer payment, with 7,000 more able to apply.
Here’s how to claim your £100 payment
The latest area to hand out a cost of living payment is the Nottinghamshire County Council. Those living in that area have until September 30 to register in order to receive their £100. If you are eligible, you will have received a letter in the post, as reported by Mirror.
The latest payment includes those who claim Pension Credit (whether guaranteed credit or savings credit) and families with children who are eligible for Free School Meals or equivalent.
There are two ways to apply for the payment. The first is to fill out an online form which you can find here. If you are unable to fill out the online form, you can call the council’s customer service on the following number: 0300 500 8080.
The customer service line is open 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Thursday, and 9 am to 4.30 pm on Friday. The council has noted that a wait time should be expected and may be longer than usual.
Those who have filled out the application will be automatically registered for the winter payment.

The council has warned of potential scams
As with any sort of scheme from the government that includes payments, scams have been on the rise. The Nottinghamshire County Council has warned its residents to be aware of scams.
The council has highlighted that those eligible will not receive any texts and if they do, it is a scam. The council has also asked its residents who have received a letter for the scheme but are concerned it may be a scam to seek advice by speaking to the council’s customer service team.
