Autumn will see the return of ‘the clothes you can wear any time, any place’, according to Vogue. Suits will head out-of-office, blazers can be shared with your boyfriend, and bold prints will make your eyes bleed. Knitwear will be welcome not only on the sofa but in your neighbourhood's poshest cocktail bar too.
Savour the freedom this autumn.
The corset is back!
Corsets make a dramatic return, celebrating women's bodies and their curves. Numerous fashion designers built this feminine piece into their silhouettes this autumn, and you should too. Sexy corset tops, corset belts, corset dresses, anything goes, as long as it wraps your waist up in a tight fashion embrace.
Cosy knits gone glamorous
We all hope that designers weren't inspired by the rising energy costs while working on this autumn' collections, but in whatever scenario, cosy knits will come handy. In fact, we will be able to wear them all day long, regardless of our social schedule. Cardigans, sweater dresses, the chunkier the better, paired with anything, from a tulle skirt to thigh-boots. Let your imagination go wild.
Office-friendly suits spiced up
Corporate tailoring is upgraded to eye-popping colours and is heading out-of-office this autumn. The texture can be whatever is nice for you to touch, velvet for instance, while loose fit is welcome. Oversized blazers are definitely the thing this season, so keep in mind that you can borrow one from your boyfriend, partner, brother, father, cousin, friend, etc.
Love your body and don’t be afraid to show it
Remember that iconic look where skinny Kate Moss wears a see-through dress?
If you are nostalgic about the cheeky wild 90s, but the size zero memories give you a bad vibe, this trend is good news for you. Transparent fabrics, skin-tight silhouettes and fearless cut-outs all fulfil what this season is about: body positivity. Showing some skin and more of what's under your clothes is cool when you enjoy it, and fashion whole point of existence is to give you the tools.
Back on the Autumn / Winter 2022 runway in Paris, the largest dose of body positivity came via Ester Manas, with her curve-celebrating ruched designs on the Rubenesque beauties.
Flight jackets are ready for takeoff
Let’s be honest, these ones never go out of style. But this time they will take on more functions. An outerwear hero for a dog walk, a go-to piece for a weekend lunch with friends, and your evening soirée bestie. Again, paired with anything. This season’s flight jackets come with all sorts of add-ons, from embellishment and squishy leather effects to vintage notes and oversized fit.
