Covid generally causes characteristic symptoms like cough, runny nose, and headache. However, it may cause other symptoms, such as burping or pink eye in some patients. These side effects usually go away on their own as the body battles illness. However, the virus has left millions of people with long Covid, resulting in a wide range of side effects that refuse to go away that easily.

Some of these side effects are a difference in penis size or bladder control concerns. If you have any concerns about your symptoms, you should see a doctor. Here are 9 side effects that may last longer than you would like.
Burping
While sick with Covid, some people may burp more than usual. It can linger for several weeks in some people as part of a long Covid. According to a study published in the Lancet medical journal, one in ten of the 117 individuals studied burped more than usual.
Diarrhoea
Covid may cause more frequent toilet trips, as diarrhoea is a sign of the condition. According to the ZOE Covid Symptom Study, the risk of diarrhoea with Covid increases with age. It affects 10% of children but 30% of people over 35. It is an early symptom of Covid, beginning on the first day of infection and increasing its intensity over the first week.
Sex Problems
People have reported problems in the bedroom months after contracting the illness. A King’s college study discovered that 14.6% of men and 8% of women experienced sexual dysfunction due to long Covid. Covid has also been linked to erectile dysfunction (ED) in men.
Smaller Penis
According to experts, a shrinking penis is most likely due to an ED caused by a viral infection. In the King's College survey, 3.2% of males said their penis got smaller. Covid has caused ED and a reduction in penis size in many men.
Sweating
Some specialists claim that night sweats are a common symptom of Omicron. Patients have experienced intense night sweating episodes that leave their bed damp or dripping wet. This may cause embarrassment for people who share a bed with a partner.
Mood Swings
Long-term Covid sufferers reported a range of symptoms associated with a change in mood, according to the King's College study. A quarter of respondents stated they have become more enraged since their infection and more than half said they were irritable. Thus, if you have been feeling a bit off, it may be because of covid.
Snoring
Sleep apnoea affects 7.1% of long-term Covid patients. The main symptom of the illness is snoring, which is caused by the narrowing of the airways during the night. It is a significant condition that makes a person weary during the day.
Red or pink eyes
Covid infection might cause irritated eyes in some people. It is classified as a less common symptom of the virus by the WHO. According to an early study, 17% of 83 study participants had itchy eyes and 16% had aching eyes due to Covid. However, it should go away as you get better.
Incontinence
Incontinence, or the inability to retain your bladder or intestines, is the last thing you want after a Covid infection. Covid-induced inflammation may increase bladder pressure. A study has discovered that many patients, most of them in their 60s, experienced new or worsening bladder symptoms, such as the desire to pee more during the night.
