A man disguised as an old woman in a wheelchair
A witness at the Louvre Museum in Paris on Sunday, @lukeXC2002, said:
Maybe this is just nuts to me but an man dressed as an old lady jumps out of a wheel chair and attempted to smash the bullet proof glass of the Mona Lisa. Then proceeds to smear cake on the glass, and throws roses everywhere all before being tackled by security.
A surreal scene, filmed and posted on Twitter by several Internet users. At around 1:30 pm, a man disguised himself to attack one of the most famous paintings in the world.
Man who throws cake at the Mona Lisa pleads to think of the planet
The man was then reportedly quickly apprehended by security. Other agents from the Louvre, one of the most visited museums in Paris, cleaned the glass protecting the Leonardo da Vinci painting. In a final video, the disguised man is filmed wearing a wig and a cap on his head. After throwing flowers on the ground, he explains that he did this to make others 'think about the planet.'
As he was gently escorted out by security guards, he shouted:
Think of the Earth. There are people who are destroying the Earth. Think about it. All artists, think about the Earth. That's why I did this. Think about the planet.
