Donald Trump raising eyebrows with dark and bizarre remarks in rallies

One of Donald Trump’s main campaign points is putting an end to violent crimes that he suggests is done by immigrants. He has a solution to this alleged problem and it seems to come from a popular horror film.

HOW TRUMP HAS CHANGED OVER THE YEARS

Donald Trump is running for president once again. One of his focal points during his campaign is immigration. He claims that immigrants have brought violence and gang crimes with them, and it is an issue that needs to be dealt with.

Indeed, the former president has made some wild claims, including that Haitian immigrants are eating pets in Springfield, which has since been debunked. At a rally on Sunday, September 29, 2024, Trump talked about violence in the US and suggested a way to stop it.

However, the 78-year-old seems to have taken his idea from a popular horror film from 2013 and many social media users have reacted to his dark proposition.

Donald Trump suggests a ‘purge’ day to stop violent crimes

As reported by Daily Mail, during a rally in Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump suggested that criminals ‘have to be taught’ and the way to do that is to have ‘one really violent day’.

If you had one really violent day. One rough hour -- and I mean real rough -- the word would get out and it would end immediately.

Trump, who revealed he won't run again if he loses, adds that the reason there is so much crime in the US is because the police aren’t ‘allowed to do their jobs’ because ‘the liberal left won't let them’.

Nonetheless, Trump’s suggestion may sound similar and if you thought of the popular 2013 horror film The Purge, you aren’t the only one. Many social media users have commented on the similarities between Trump’s idea and the film.

Journalist Brian Krassenstein wrote on X:

Did Trump just f***ing suggest The Purge? Trump implies that his idea for stopping crime is to allow for ‘one really violent day…I mean real rough’

Journalist Ahmed Baba explained that Trump’s idea is for a ‘one-way’ Purge day allowing police to ‘unleash brutality on civilians’.

This terrifying and bizarre suggestion isn’t the only thing that has caught the public’s interest this week. Indeed, people are also talking about another rally where Donald Trump was distracted by something very small.

Donald Trump was distracted by a fly

As mentioned above, people have been talking about another one of Donald Trump’s rallies where he was distracted by…a fly. Yes, that’s right, the former President was telling an anecdote, then a fly buzzed nearby, he commented on it, and then he never finished his first anecdote before starting something new.

As per The Independent, during his rally at Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, Trump was talking about hats and then he got distracted by the small insect:

Oh there’s a fly. I wonder where the fly came from?

Someone from the crowd shouted ‘Kamala’, to which Trump then says that a couple of years ago ‘I wouldn’t have had a fly up here’.

See, two years ago, I wouldn’t have had a fly up here. You’re changing rapidly. We can’t take it any longer.

Once again, social media users commented on the strange discourse and MSNBC host and legal analyst Katie Phang said that ‘this isn’t normal’. Others have suggested that Trump is ‘exhausted’ and ‘struggling to stay on track’.
