Donald Trump married his current wife Melania in 2005, and the pair had a son together, Barron. Melania grew up with humble roots in Slovenia, when it was communist Yugoslavia, where she lived in an apartment with her parents and elder sister Ines Knavs. Her father was a car salesman and her mother worked in a textile factory. Melania went on to become a model, and after she married Trump was even FLOTUS for his term in office. However, she has always maintained a certain grounded quality when it comes to her family, and especially to Barron.

While Trump is said to have had a hands-off approach to Barron’s upbringing, Melania has been the opposite. One of her main objectives had been to keep Barron far from the media’s attention. Given the ongoing legal battles her husband is facing as he runs for president again, this is not an easy task. Last summer, Trump used Barron in his campaign and it has since come to light that Melania was reportedly ‘livid’ about him drawing their son into the public sphere.

Donald Trump is well-known for making interesting decisions about what he puts on the internet. In the summer of 2023, he included a rare picture of his son Barron, who was 17 at the time, in a political social media post.

Melania, having made such efforts to keep Barron out of her husband’s affairs, was ‘seething with fury’ when she found out, according to an insider.
The extent of Melania’s rage
The source, who spoke to RadarOnline.com, said that Melania ‘has been incredibly protective of Barron and has told Donald she would not stand for him to be exploited by anyone, even his father!’
According to the insider, Trump promised his wife that he would keep Barron on a low profile. If this is true, he certainly broke it with this move. The source even went so far as to say that Melania ‘won’t forgive him, and the next time we see them together may be in divorce court’. That being said, many months on we have seen no indication that separation is on the table for the couple.
The insider pointed out that ‘she made it clear to Donald that she wasn’t going to pull their son out of school, even to move into the White House'.
Although Trump was apparently ‘stunned’ by her levels of resistance, he reportedly ‘realized her line in the sand was drawn and he hasn’t crossed it — until now!’
Ivanka has stepped back from her father
The source even suggested that Trump’s move could see Barron distance himself from his father.Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter from his previous marriage, did exactly that before his campaign this time around. In 2022, she revealed that neither she nor her husband Jared Kushner would be taking part in Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. She shared a public message explaining her decision:
I love my father very much. This time around, I am choosing to prioritize my young children and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.
Having previously worked very closely with her father, Ivanka specified: ‘While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena.’
