Ivanka doesn't believe the election was 'stolen' from him
In the recording, Ivanka tells the congressional panel that she accepted former Attorney General Bill Barr’s statement that the Justice Department had discovered no significant fraud to back up Trump's claim that massive voter fraud in several key states resulted in the 2020 election being 'stolen' from him.
In response, Trump hit out on his social media platform Truth Social, saying:
Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results. She has long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!).
Mary Trump speaks out
In an interview with MSNBC, Mary Trump was asked what she thought about her uncle’s remarks and cousin’s testimony. Trump’s niece responded that herrelatives were acting in a waythat was 'exactly what I’d expect from both of them.' Mary Trump said, as reported by The Independent:
Ivanka walked a very fine line. She didn’t say anything necessarily incendiary, but, as we thought would happen, she decided she needed to come down on the side of what the facts support, which is of course that the election was not stolen.
In regards to Trump, she said:
The fact that he said she’d checked out, although that’s kind of rude, isn’t really the issue. He’s accusing her of perjury, really.
