No more direct trains to Disneyland Paris
As of 5 June, 2023, there will no longer be any direct trains from London to the world famous entertainment resort located in Chessy, just east of Paris. Families looking to spend some quality time with their favourite Disney characters will have to make their way to Paris first before having to travel across the French capital to make it to Disneyland.
In a statement released to its third party travel agents, Eurostar explained their decision to be a purely pragmatic one in light of recent events. They said:
As the business continues to recover from the pandemic, we need to focus on our core routes to allow us to stabilise our operation and customer experience. Whilst we have seen travel demand return this year, we have financial commitments as a result of the pandemic which we will continue to face for a number of years.
Before adding:
We are also monitoring developments in the EU's proposed Entry Exit System, and we want to focus on providing a reliable service with the experience that our customers rightly expect. We will still be offering connecting fares to allow passengers to enjoy the benefit of high-speed rail travel from London to Disney via Lille and Paris.
Eurostar's new CEO
Despite the decision to no longer offer direct trains to Disneyland Paris, the international high-speed rail service will continue running as usual between the UK and France, Belgium and the Netherlands.
What's more, they have also expressed the possibility of adding new destinations and services as a new CEO, Gwendoline Cazenave,will take over the company starting October 2022.
