Security check up

This consists of three major settings that you can consult to ensure that your account is fully protected. Facebook explained:

You can use Security Checkup to review and add more security to your account.

Security Checkup can be found under Settings & Privacy on your Facebook app. You should see an option to ‘Check Your Important Security Settings’ and this when clicked, will take you through the Security Checkup. At this point, if your account is fully protected, you’ll know as there’ll be a ‘no issues found’ at the top of the screen.

TFA and login alerts

If not you will have to go to fortify your account by activating three very important settings, the first one being your password. Ensure your password is strong cannot be easily guessed. Then you need to activate two-factor authentication. According to Facebook:

If you set up two-factor authentication, you'll be asked to enter a special login code or confirm your login attempt each time someone tries accessing Facebook from a browser or mobile device we don't recognize.

The final security step that adds more security to your Facebook account is Login alerts.

You can also get alerts when someone tries logging in from a browser or mobile device we don't recognize.

Although these features are to provide you with an extra layer of protection, you have a role to play as well such as keeping your password safe and not sharing it with anyone. Here, Facebook outlines some other things you can do on your part to keep your account safe.
