A picture of a big flock of pink flamingos taking shelter in a restroom has made the rounds on the internet, going viral. This picture brought a sense of hope and reassurance to the citizens affected by the hurricane. And after this, many people started taking steps and initiatives to ensure that the animals in their neighborhood could cope easily with the mighty hurricane Ian.
Where are the flamingos at the moment?
As per reports by Forbes, the famous Chilean flamingos are from Sunken Garden. They are among the many living beings coping with the hurricane in their own way. Sunken Garden is a popular botanical park in St. Petersburg. Having been hit by hurricane Ian, the pink four-legged wonders of the park have taken refuge in the bathrooms.
The four-acre park is home to so many varieties of flora and fauna. And the flamingos are definitely a favorite among the residents of the town.
Are the flamingos safe?
Since the park tweeted the photo of the flamingos in the women’s restroom from their official Instagram account, internet users have been gravely concerned about their safety. As per USA Today, the image shows a picture of a large bowl of food and water to help the flamingos ride out the deadly hurricane.
So, yes, the flamingos are safe, and local animal rescuers are reportedly doing everything they can, given the complexity of the situation, to help the flamingos.
