Gaynor’s belongings were scattered in Wesum Park, which is just an 8-minute walk from the place she was last seen.
According to the officer leading Gaynor Lord’s case, her disappearance shows similarities with a disappearance that happened earlier this year. As a result, the team investigating Lord’s disappearance have teamed up with those who worked on Nicola Bulley's case, a woman who disappeared in January 2023.
Gaynor Lord’s disappearance is similar to Nicola Bulley’s case
As mentioned above, Gaynor Lord went missing on December 8, her belongings were found in Wensum Park and her olive-coloured coat was found in a river that runs through the park, as reported by Express.
Top Norwich police officer Supt Wes Hornigold told The Sun that Gaynor’s case shows a lot of similarities with Nicola Bulley’s case. He explained that he and his team are now working with the officers who searched for Nicola in Lancashire.
We will absolutely, and have been, linking in with Lancashire Constabulary to understand any of the lessons learned from that inquiry.
Adding:
We’re cognisant of the recent College of Policing report into the Lancashire inquiry, so we’re leaving no stone unturned and making sure we’re doing everything within our power to find Gaynor as quickly as possible.
What happened to Nicola Bulley?
According to The Sun, Nicola Bulley, 45, went missing on January 27, 2023, after she had dropped her two daughters off at school. She disappeared near a river in St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire.
Nicola had been walking her dog, Willow when she disappeared. Her phone and dog lead were later found on a bench near the river Wyre. Police spent several weeks searching for Nicola Bulley, both on land and in waterways. The police even used specialist equipment and experts.
Sadly, Nicola was not found alive, as the police retrieved her body from the waterway, three weeks after she was last seen.
Indeed, both women disappeared in similar circumstances, police are urging anyone with information to come forward to help the search for Gaynor Lord.
