Google has issued a warning to all those who use the internet browser Google Chrome as the company has discovered there are three ‘high-level threats’ going around at the moment. What are these threats and what do you need to do to avoid being targeted?

What are the ‘high-level threats’?
As reported by The Sun, Google has announced that it is ‘aware that an exploit for CVE-2023-5217 exists in the wild’.
In simple terms, this means hackers have noticed this threat existed before Google’s security team. This issue means that hackers have more capabilities than before, like arbitrary code execution (ACE).
ACE is when a hacker can run commands they choose on any device they like and it allows them to gain access via a vulnerability, as explained by The Sun.
The other two ‘high-level threats’ can put your passwords and extensions at risk through ‘use-after-free flaws’.
What do you need to do as a Chrome user?
As a Chrome user, you don’t actually need to do much to protect yourself from these threats. As per The Sun, 10 security fixes were launched by Google in its latest update. It may take days or perhaps weeks for all 3.2 billion Chrome users to get the updated browser.
For most users, the update is automatic, but if you have not opted for that option, be sure to be on the lookout for the Chrome update, which is called Google Chrome 117.0.5938.132.
