Lock screen changes
You can already personalise your home screen. With iOS 16, you’ll finally be able to personalise your lock screen too. You’ll be able to change the font and colour of the time display, and better yet, you can choose the depth of it. This means that if you have a portrait of someone on your lock screen, you can choose that the time is slightly behind the person.
You will also be able to add widgets of your choice to your lock screen. Finally, the notifications on your lock screen will appear from the bottom of the screen and roll up, allowing you to admire your lock screen.
Communications changes
Apple is also introducing a bunch of changes to its communication apps, including messaging and emails.
The changes to messaging will now allow you to unsend and edit messages as well as recover recently deleted messages. iOS users will also be able to use the brand new SharePlay feature. This feature allows iOS users to watch films or listen to music with friends and family whilst talking via messages, as explained by Hypebae. This feature is already available on FaceTime.
iOS 16 is also bringing updates to Apple’s emailing system. You will now be able to schedule emails as well as cancel an email before it is sent out to the recipient.
