For the last couple of years, airline staff all over Europe have been going on strike in order to get better pay and working conditions. Indeed, as a result, many airlines have been forced to cancel thousands of flights due to the disruption.

All of those travelling to Spain sometime this year, have been warned that there may be disruptions due to strike actions in the popular holiday destination. Jet2 has shared an update on the situation and what Brits should do if they are travelling to Spain this year.
Jet2 issues major travel warning
As mentioned above, Jet2 has updated its website due to the strike actions going on in Spain. Indeed, Spanish workers are planning on going on strike between September all the way up to January 2024.
As reported by Mirror, Alicante airport will be affected by said strikes which may cause major delays as it is one of the main travel hubs in Spain. Jet2 has warned families that may be travelling during half-term to check their flights regularly for updates.
We wanted to let you know that a Ground Handling strike action is taking place on the following dates listed below. This is supported by the Security service at Alicante airport and this may mean potential congestion in security.

When are the strikes and how long will they last?
As per Mirror, the strike actions themselves will not last long, one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, but the strikes will happen often.
The dates are the following:
- September: 22nd - 24th 26th 29th & 30th
- October: 1st 3rd 6th - 15th 17th 20th- 22nd 24th 27 - 29th & 31st
- November: 1st – 5th 7th 10th – 12th 14th 17th – 19th 21st 24th – 26th & 28th
- December: 1st – 10th 12th 15th - 17th 19th 22nd- 31st
- January 2024: 1st – 14th
