'Remarksable' value
M&S has collaborated with Michelin-star chef Tom Kerridge to create the new 'Remarksable' meal planner, which features five easy-to-follow recipes for a family of four, costing under £2 per person per meal. Recipes include chipotle chicken thighs with herby rice and roasted spiced cauliflower with slow-cooked onions and greens.
According to a press release, the meal planner was designed around the concept of 'ALL taste, less waste.' The recipes also include handy tips for making ingredients go further, reducing food waste, and making the most of leftovers.
The company has pledged to lock prices for all products in M&S’ Remarksable value range, including the 32 ingredients featured in the meal planner recipes, for the whole summer.
Cost of living a top concern
It comes as a report from the retailer reveals that 82% of people (up 10% from November 2021) agree that the cost of living is their top concern and more than half of people (55%, up from 45% in November 2021) are now worried about the long-term financial position of their family.
According to The Sun, Kerridge grew up in a single-parent household on a council estate. He said:
My advice is to have a shopping list and knowing what you’re going to cook over the next five or seven days. Decide the recipes you’re going to use, and only buy what you need – a little bit of structure works really well.
