Michael Gove was born on August 26, 1967, in Aberdeen, United Kingdom. Grove was adopted at the age of 4 months and grew up in the Kittybrewster area of Aberdeen. He studied English at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford.
Gove first started working as a journalist, his first job was in the Peterborough column of the Daily Telegraph, after interviewing Max Hastings. Gove then moved back to Aberdeen and became a journalist intern for the Press and Journal, during that time, he went on strike for several months as part of the 1989-90 dispute over its recognition and representation.
Michael Gove also worked for Scottish Television as a correspondent from 1990 to 1991. He has also been a regular panellist on BBC Radio 4’s The Moral Maze and Newsnight Review on BBC Two.
