Her mother Fanny remains hopeful
As time goes by, the investigation stalls. While many have given up hope of finding Lina alive, her mother Fanny has not. One month after her daughter's disappearance, she wished to speak out through her lawyer Matthieu Airoldi once again.
Matthieu Airoldi told AFP that his client wished to say a few words to 'all the Gendarmerie forces who have been working so hard since the beginning', and to the investigating judges 'who are working tirelessly to find Lina as quickly as possible'.
'Lina's place is at home'.
Fanny, Lina's mother, hopes to find her daughter alive and bring her home.
My determination, my anger, my rage, are driving me to give up nothing and to fight even harder.
She assures, before continuing:
Everyone around me, as well as the general public, provide unfailing support and strength in this terrible ordeal (...) Lina's place is with her family, and I won't give up until she's there.
At the beginning of October, the Strasbourg public prosecutor's office opened a judicial investigation 'against X' for 'kidnapping and sequestration not followed by a voluntary release for more than seven days'. The public prosecutor, Yolande Renzi, said at the time that 'lengthy investigations' were to be expected, and that 'no lead had been ruled out or favored'.
