Very pious citizens
They had refused to react publicly to their son's disappearance, yet in August, Marie and Colomban asked Famille Chrétienne to interview them. It was far from a random choice for their only interview. They explained:
We were looking for a mainstream medium that would also be able to understand our motivations as Christian parents.
During an interview, they assured the magazine they were 'not afraid to ask God for a miracle.' While they trust the investigators to solve the mystery surrounding Émile's disappearance, they place their faith in the hands of Jesus.

Since July 8, the day of the tragedy, they have been praying regularly in a small chapel in Haut-Vernet. The chapel was closed this summer to 'protect the tranquility' of the family and allow them to pray in peace.
