A very Machiavellian trap has just been uncovered. On Wednesday, July 19, an 18-year-old woman was arrested for trying to hire a hitman to get rid of her three-year-old son. From her home in Miami, she went to a website to find someone likely to commit the murder, as reported by CBS News.
The mother was tricked by a fake website
But bad luck for the mother with infanticidal desires, as she came across a fake website. In fact, a man created this subterfuge precisely to identify people wishing to call on the services of hitmen and thus prevent potential homicides.
On Tuesday, July 18, after receiving the mother's request, the owner of the fake website contacted the authorities. He explained that the young mother had contacted him to organize the murder of her son.

She offered $3,000 to kill her son
In order to be able to arrest the boy's mother, the creator of the fake website provided the police with the information he had, i.e. her address and the boy's photo. From conversations handed over to the authorities, it would appear that the 18-year-old mother had requested that the child be killed by Thursday, July 20.
Police officers quickly arrived at the scene. They came across the child's grandmother. They were able to retrieve the little boy and take him to safety, before returning to the scene to arrest his mother.
But to trap the culprit, the police also used a strategy of impersonation. They posed as contract killers to approach the suspect and confirm her motives. She fell into their trap and agreed to pay $3,000 to have her son executed. As a result, she was arrested and is currently in custody awaiting trial.
