New weather maps have shown that parts of the UK could experience another heat wave over the coming days. Temperatures could reach up to 25C early next week, and the warmer weather could last for certain areas.

This will bring about a very welcome change following the heavy rains and winds of Storm Agnes, the first named storm of the season. Temperatures across the UK vary for the most part around mid-to-late teens, but in some areas there will be some definite tanning weather!
How hot it could get
Greg Dewhurst, Senior Operational Meteorologist at the Met Office, told Express:
It stays mixed through the rest of this week, with temperatures generally above average and reaching the low twenties at times across southern parts of the UK.
He went on to highlight the southeast of England as the main hot spot:
There are signs that if we get enough sunshine on Monday (details uncertain at this stage) we could see temperatures climb to around 25C in the southeast of England but then fresher air moving in soon after this.
How long the good weather will last
Phil Morrish, a weather expert, has said that some predictions ‘are showing 25-28C for London between October 5 and 9’.
In general, the weather maps suggest that the first week of October will be warmer for the UK. WXCharts shows maximum temperatures of 21C on 7 October in south east England. Western areas are expected to see the mercury rise around the mid-teens. Meanwhile, temperatures in Scotland and Northern Ireland range from 9-13C.
