Human foot found

A park employee made the gruesome discovery earlier this week, according to public affairs officer for Yellowstone National Park, Morgan Warthin. The human remain was discovered in the Abyss Pool hot spring which is located in the West Thumb Geyser Basin in the southern part of the park.

No foul play has been detected

As a result, the area was temporarily closed to facilitate an ongoing investigation. Authorities do not have much information revealing concrete details of what actually happened as it stands, but they have ruled any form of foul play. In a news press released by the National Park service, they suggested that the foot belonged a person who was involved in an incident that had occurred a month prior. The press released stated:

Evidence from the investigation thus far suggests that an incident involving one individual likely occurred on the morning of July 31, 2022 at Abyss Pool.
