While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are at a geographical distance from all of this - being based in Montecito, California - they are in the thick of it when it comes to relations within the family.

Following Prince Harry’s release of his tell-all memoir Spare and the revelations made in various interviews and documentaries by him and his wife, the Duke’s relationship with his brother Prince William has been strained. Now, there is talk of building bridges given that Prince Harry is set to return to the UK over the next few months.
Prince Harry and Prince William invited to same wedding
Prince Harry is actually set to visit the UK in May for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. There were hopes that this could lead to a reconciliation, but insiders have explained that this is unlikely because Prince William has other priorities at the moment. Indeed, sources close to the Waleses told the Daily Beast:
Catherine and William have been very clear they want peace and quiet for them and the kids—a visit from Harry, with all the drama that would bring, would be the opposite of that. They have come to terms with the estrangement from Harry, and are content to let sleeping dogs lie.
However, there is another event on the horizon that could see the brothers reunite. According to The Express, the princes’ mutual friend Hugh Grosvenor has sent out invites for his wedding this summer. It would seem that both Prince Harry and Prince William are on the guest list.
Who is Hugh Grosvenor?
Grosvenor is a friend of the family, and the 7th Duke of Westminster. ‘Friend’ may even be an understatement - Grosvenor is actually Prince George’s godfather. It therefore seems likely that Prince William will want to attend Grosvenor’s marriage to his long-term partner Olvia Henson at Chester Cathedral.
According to the Daily Mail, the Duke has maintained a close relationship to both Prince William and Prince Harry. A source reportedly told the publication that he was remaining ‘neutral’ and ‘maintaining a good relationship’ with both brothers.
Time will tell whether the princes will both manage to attend the wedding, and whether they speak to one another while there. Indeed, the brothers have avoided each other at the same event before, but perhaps the festivities will help to soften the icy status of their current relationship.
