Andrey Gurulev, a pro-Kremlin MP, has declared Russia has the ‘perfect’ opportunity to deploy nuclear weapons right in front of them. This comes after a wave of Ukrainian drone attacks hit Russian territories on Tuesday 29 August. Andrey Gurulev, who is also a former general, has urged Putin to retaliate by using nukes on Ukraine.

He appeared alongside fellow Russian mouthpiece Vladimir Solovyov on Russian TV. The pair agreed that the time was right to use nuclear weapons on Ukraine, and went on to explain their reasoning.
Russia’s recent loss to Ukraine
Ukrainian troops have successfully regained control of the village Robotyne, and videos have emerged online showing grateful civilians rejoicing after being evacuated. In a video shared on X by Anton Gerashchenko, a woman explains that they ‘waited so long’ that they ‘couldn’t even believe’ it when the troops they saw turned out to be Ukrainian.

Indeed, this military victory has universally been seen as a significant win for Ukraine. After an 11-week battle, the Ukrainians have recaptured the village, which marks an important milestone in their efforts to sever the land link between the annexed Crimea peninsula and Donesk. Most experts agree that, if this is achieved, it will swing the war significantly in Ukraine’s favour.
‘Perfect’ conditions for Russian nuclear attacks
A terrifying clip from Russian TV shows Gurulev and Solovyov agreeing that Robotyne would be the ‘perfect’ place to target. Solovyov was the first to suggest the idea, stating that this village was the ‘perfect, perfect spot to use tactical nuclear weapons’.
Gurulev’s response is chilling as he keeps on repeating just how 'perfect' the conditions are: ‘Perfect. They are all bunched up there, simply perfect.’ He goes on to explain that from a military perspective, it is the ideal situation ‘because there is a complete absence of reserves of the enemy’.
There have been claims that Russia’s equipment and soldiers are running very low, but Gurulev asserted that the Russians were in a position to carry out a successful nuclear attack.
Even with those forces that we have, we are quite capable to advance, and quite nicely free Zaporizhzhia and, perhaps, even Dnipropetrovsk region.
