Celebs including Victoria Beckham, Chrissy Teigen and Kourtney Kardashian swear by silk pillowcases to protect their hair and skin but they can be rather pricey for those of us without a celebrity budget. So it’s no surprise that Aldi’s £24.99 Kirkton House Silk Pillowcase Specialbuys have been flying off the shelves.

The pillowcase is made from 100% pure silk and is said to be ‘beautifully smooth.’ Aldi’s site says:
Make bedtime a luxurious experience with a Kirkton House Pink Silk Pillowcase. Super soft and made from 100% silk, not only does it look fabulous but it feels fabulous too. Bedtime just got a serious upgrade!
After going on sale on Sunday, the Kirkton House Silk Pillowcase has already sold out in grey and white but is still available in pretty pale pink online as either a single or two-pack. Alternatively, you can also pick up a range of cheaper non-silk pillowcases, including an Anti-Allergy Pillowcase Pair for £3.99.
Silk pillowcase benefits for skin
So just how does a silk pillowcase benefit your skin? Since silk is much smoother and creates less friction than cotton, using a silk pillowcase can stop you getting ‘sleep wrinkles.’ Silk pillowcases also absorb less moisture from the skin than cotton pillowcases, meaning they’re great for those who suffer from dry skin.
Silk pillowcase benefits for hair
Silk pillowcases are also said to be great for your hair. Just as with skin, they help keep your hair hydrated since they won’t absorb moisture like a cotton pillowcase does. Silk pillowcases are also great for avoiding frizzy hair and bedhead due to the lack of friction between your hair and the smooth silk.
