So, Tesco has announced its Clubcard Christmas Savers scheme in July. The scheme allows Clubcard members to save the vouchers they collect as they shop throughout the year.
'Get ahead of the festive season'
Clubcard members collect one point for every £1 they spend in-store and online, and one point for every £2 they spend on fuel. A Tesco spokesperson said:
With the average weekly shop for a family of four costing £99.40, shoppers could save at least 1,292 in points if they start saving today, which is the equivalent of £12.92 or an extra present under the tree.
Members can transfer the points they earned from May to July onto their August Clubcard Points Statement. In addition, Tesco will give members a bonus if they top up their account with cash. For example, if you top up £25 you will receive a £1.50 bonus, if you top up £200 you will receive a £12 bonus. That’s up to 6% added to your savings.
'A savvy way to spread the cost of Christmas'
Customers will then be sent all their vouchers in November, just in time for Christmas shopping. Finally, vouchers are worth up to three times more if you buy gifts with Clubcard Rewards partners.
Alessandra Bellini, chief commercial officer at Tesco, said:
We know that many of our customers are feeling the financial squeeze this year and could do with a little help towards Christmas.
The Clubcard Christmas Savers is a savvy way to spread the cost of Christmas, without compromising on the things that bring us joy at such a special time of year.
