We’re used to Aldi being the ones to dupe more expensive designer products but it looks like the supermarket is getting played at its own game as rival Tesco has released a new garden furniture range with many products that bear a striking resemblance to some Aldi favourites. What’s more, a lot of Tesco’s range is significantly cheaper.

Tesco egg chair
Leading the pack with what seems to be the 2021 garden furniture must-have, Tesco are selling their own take on the ever-popular egg chair.
Their version is standing rather than hanging like Aldi’s or B&M’s but it has the same kind of vibe and will look stylish in any garden whilst costing just £150, a penny more than Aldi’s version.
Aldi vs Tesco garden furniture
Meanwhile, Tesco is also selling a rattan sofa set for the garden which looks almost exactly identical to Aldi’s one. Both sofas are L-shaped and come with grey cushions. Aldi’s version features a larger table/footrest whilst Tesco’s comes with a small glass-topped table. Tesco’s version comes out cheaper at £200 compared to Aldi’s £265.95.
Tesco also has a six-piece patio set featuring four chairs, a table and a parasol for an impressive £95. Meanwhile, Aldi is offering a Specialbuy patio set which features four chairs and a high table which features a built-in wine cooler. It is a lot dearer at £300 but this cool feature makes it stand out from the rest.
Aldi have also been pretty impressive when it comes to their range of barbecues this year. They’ve had a number of options ranging in price from £34.99 for the Ambiano Electric Grill to the Gardenline Kamado Ceramic Egg BBQ at £349.99. Tesco have a £40 barbecue on wheels which is similar to Aldi’s mid-range £64.99 barbie - although Aldi’s does have an extra grilling compartment.
