As reported by Food Standards Agency, Tesco has issued an urgent product recall on its cheesecake and Wicked Kitchen's cheesecakes and sundae. These desserts have traces of walnuts, which are not declared on the label.

Nut consumption can have very serious consequences for those with a nut allergy. Hence Tesco, in its food recall notice, has requested customers with this condition do not consume these products due to the allergen hazard.
Tesco dessert recall
If you have already purchased the recalled items, you can return the affected product to any Tesco store where a full refund would be granted to you. Tesco has clarified that no receipt is required.
The products in question are:
- Tesco Free From Strawberry Cheesecake 2x1OO g
- Wicked Kitchen Millionaires Sundae 11O g
- Wicked Kitchen Strawberry and Vanilla Cheesecake 100g
- Wicked Kitchen Chocolate and Vanilla Cheesecake 100g
Tesco has also apologised to its customers for any inconvenience caused.
Walnut allergy
Accordingto Food Allergy,tree nut allergy is among the most common allergies in both adults and children. The most common tree nuts people are allergic to include walnut, almond, hazelnut, pecan, cashew and pistachio.
The consequences of eating tree nuts can be very severe and potentially life-threatening. One can get a severe anaphylaxis reaction even from a very small trace of tree nut. Thus, it is prudent to be very careful of any tree nut traces in food if you are allergic.
