Europe is well-known all over the world for its fine gastronomy and culinary innovations. This time, it's Denmark who are causing a stir with this new way of doing hard-boiled eggs - sausage-style! First of all, let us assure you there are no weirdly-modified chickens laying extra-long eggs! The process of creating these eggs takes place in a Danish factory, where millions of eggs are passed through a very specialized process to create the extra-long sausage-shaped eggs. We'll talk you through it.

First of all, the eggs are washed by a machine. Then, a second machine breaks the eggs and the yolks are separated from the whites. The whites are mixed in a vat, then poured into tube-shaped moulds to be cooked. The yolks, which have been mixed separately, are then poured into the tubes inside the whites and cooked in turn.
The eggs are then kept at a very low temperature, then checked over meticulously by the factory workers for any imperfections. Then, the 'tube' eggs are packaged separately, ready for your plates! You can even replicate this process at home, all you'll need is a glass and a bain-marie and you're all set! Once you have your sausage-shaped egg, you'll be able to cut it into perfect slices. Everyone will be amazed by your uniform, round and symmetrical sliced eggs!
