Bought for a modest sum
Bought in 1961 by Dan Wood, a 79-year-old retired architect, this stylish manor is situated in Narragansett Bay in the United States and has a surprising history. Built in 1905 for a total of £33,000, this house only cost the buyer a modest sum of £3,200.
Although he had to pay out roughly the price of a car to get the house, Dan Wood and his family had to renovate it entirely. But the result is there. Now, after extensive construction work, this manor has become a real paradise and a great place to live. With around 12 bedrooms, it is furnished with superb wood panelling which runs from the ground to the ceiling.
Ideal for spending an extended weekend or for long stays with friends or family, this house offers a magical setting for its happy owners...
