The payments should go through automatically and appear on your energy bill as an additional £150 payment shortly after you’ve received the Warm Home Discount. Households who are on any of the following benefits could be eligible for the payment:
- Pension Credit with Guarantee Credit
- Income related Employment and Support Allowance
- Income based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income Support
- Universal Credit
- Housing benefit
- Child Tax Credits and Working Tax Credits
- Pension Credit Savings Credit (PCSC)
People should have got a letter between November 2022 and January 2023 explaining their eligibility and when they will receive their payment with everyone getting the funds by March 31 at the latest.
Meanwhile, for those with a smart prepayment meter, the Warm Home Discount will appear as a credit on your electricity meter. If you have a traditional prepayment meter, you'll receive a £150 voucher to redeem at any Paypoint top-up location, as per Shell Energy.
