To be able to enter most countries you have to hold a passport that is valid for another six months after your departure date.
This detail isn’t always taken into account and causes problems at the airport terminal when it’s way too late to do anything.
According to VisaGuide.World, there are 70 countries that want your passport’s expiry date not earlier than six months after you start your journey.
But there are 41 destination with a shorter validity rule.
For example, for non-EU countries travelling to the EU, the passport must be valid for three months after the date you leave the EU.
As all red passports in the UK are due to expire soon, Brits are advised to check whether they’ll still take people to their desired destinations.
