If you have recently purchased a duck product at Lidl or peas from Tesco, then please note that the Food Standards Agency (FDA) is saying that certain batches are ‘unsafe to eat’. These recalls concern several products. We tell you everything.
Lidlrecalls products over salmonella
According to the FDA, Lidl is recalling ‘Braemoor Duck Breast Fillet products’. The products in question are:
- 'Braemoor 2 Duck Breast Fillets with Plum, Soy and Ginger Sauce Sachet - Expriry date 21 August 2024
- Braemoor 2 Duck Breast Fillets, Skin on and Boneless - Expiry date 31 August 2024'
In both products traces of salmonella were found which can cause severe symptoms like ‘fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.’
Lidl is advising customers who have purchased the products to take them back to their local store where they will receive a full refund.
Tesco recalls products over contamination by unknown berry
According to the FDA Tesco is recalling ‘Growers Harvest Garden Peas’ due to a possible contamination by an unknown berry making the product ‘unsafe to eat.’ The products included by the recall are:
- 'Growers Harvest Garden Peas - 900g - Batch code: 23196, 23197, 23198, 23199, 23200 - Expiry date January 2025
- Growers Harvest Garden Peas - 900g - Batch code: 23237, 23238, 23239, 23240 - Expiry date: February 2025
- Growers Harvest Garden Peas - 900g - Batch code: 23256, 23257, 23258, 23259, 23260, 23261 - Expiry date: March 2025
- Growers Harvest Garden Peas - 900g - Batch code: 23275, 23276, 23277 - Expiry date: April 2025'
So far, because the berry is unknown, the risks are undetermined. However the products should not be consumed. Tesco is encouraging customers to take the purchased products back to their local store where they will receive a full refund.
