Nikolai Patrushev, a close Vladimir Putin ally, has claimed that the Western alliance is at war with Russia and that it is determined to wipe out Russia from the political map, Reuters reports.

Russia at war with NATO
Nikolai Patrushev isthe Russian Security Council Secretary,and one of the closest allies ofPutin.
Recently, he has been linked in many reports as a possible successor of Vladimir Putin in case the Russian President is incapacitated or must step aside from power.
Patrushev is now claiming that the West is already at war with Russia and that it is trying to eliminate Russia from the 'political map'.
Multiple news outlets picked up the comments of Patrushev who was speaking to the Russian Argumenti i Fakti newspaper,claiming that the conflict above all is between Russia, the US, and Britain, The Telegraph reports:
The events in Ukraine are not a clash between Moscow and Kyiv - this is a military confrontation between Russia and Nato, and above all the United States and Britain.
The Westerners' plans are to continue to pull Russia apart, and eventually just erase it from the political map of the world.

No hatred for Ukrainians
According to the Independent,Patrushev claimed that Russia is not at war with Ukraine because Russians are not able to hate Ukrainians:
Russia is not at war with Ukraine because Russians cannot have hatred for ordinary Ukrainians.
The comments by Patrushev come a day after a Russian Parliamentarian issued a direct threat to France and Britain for their support towards Ukraine.
