Western countries like the US, Germany, and Poland have confirmed they will be sending numerous modern tanks and armored vehicles to Ukraine, Newsweek reports.
Russian officials had previously warned against this move, describing the supply of tanks as an escalation of the war by the West.
Meanwhile, Putinhas said that Russia will not be defeated on the battlefield with armored vehicles and those who plan to do that should prepare for more than just Russian tanks:
Those who plan to defeat Russia on the battlefield don't understand a modern war with Russia will be very different. We have ways of responding, and it won't just be limited to armored vehicles.

Putin was speaking at an event to commemorate the battle of Stalingrad during World War II. On this occasion, he drew a comparison with that historical period as Russia will be facing German tanks:
[Admitting Russia was] once again threatened by German tanks.
Putin criticized Germany’s decision to deliver Ukraine ‘Leopard 2’ tanks and included the country in what he called a collective aggression of the West:
The aggression of the collective West [which Russia will fight back against].
According to Mirror, Putinwill not send tanks to the border but instead will respond with something more firm, hinting at a nuclear threat.
