Second thoughts about Vladimir Putin
Back in August,Alexander Duginlost his daughter in an unresolved assassination that was reportedly supposed to target him.
This might explain why the Russian ideologue is now lashing out at Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin.
According to Newsweek, citing a report by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Dugin has blamed Putin for the current situation and has issued a threat to him in the form of a literary metaphor.
‘An autocrat has a responsibility to save his nation all by himself or face the fate of the ‘king of the rains.’
The quote ‘king of the rains’ stems from ‘The Golden Bough’ a book by Sir James Frazer in which a king was killed because he was unable to deliver rain amidst a drought, ISW reports.
Ukraine has gained back half of the land that Russia has occupied
Dugin has joined a ‘bandwagon’ of prominent Russians who have expressed despair for previous ‘shameful retreats’ and now for having lost the city of Kherson.
Vladimir Solovyov, a Russian state TV presenter, who is also nicknamed ‘Putin's voice’ due to his support of the Russian President, became surprisingly animated in a recent radio broadcast while criticising the Russian army, Newsweek reports.
Kherson was the only major urbanarea that Vladimir Putin’s army was able to control thus far during the Ukraine War.
Newsweek during the weekend also reported that Ukraine has gained back approximately 50% of its territory which it once lost to occupying Russian forces.
