It’s safe to say that the summer of 2023 has been unusual when it comes to the weather. Indeed the country had a rather wet August. However, the gloomy rainy days are a thing of the past as the country - and other parts of Europe - will be hit by a ‘heat dome’.

Weather predicted for September has not been seen since July and will start tomorrow, September 4. Here’s what to expect in the upcoming heatwave.
The ‘heat dome’ that’ll hit the UK
As reported by Express, a drastic change in the weatheris about to hit the UK. After so many rainy days, some parts of the UK may reach up to 90F (32C). This unseasonal heat is expected to cover much of France, Germany and the UK starting tomorrow, September 4, with temperatures expected to rise as the week goes on, with some parts reaching up to 105F (40C).
A heat dome is a weather phenomenon that is caused when warmer air mounts in the atmosphere at levels that are usually occupied by cooler air.
These temperatures are usually around 6C or 7C this time of year, however, according to reports, the temperature is around 20C.
According to the Met Office, the south of the UK can expect temperatures up to 30C by the middle of the week. The far north of Scotland may be the only part of the UK not affected by the surge in temperatures.
Met Office deputy chief meteorologist Chris Bulmer previously said:
Many places can expect to see maximum temperatures rise to 25C or above for several days, which would bring some locations into the realm of heatwave conditions

How long will the heatwave last?
According to Met Office meteorologist Jonathan Vautrey, the surge in temperatures is partly due to tropical cyclone Franklin which is on its way from the Atlantic:
It has been building its way in from the Atlantic and it is going to be sticking with the vast majority of us throughout Saturday and Sunday
It is unclear how long this unseasonal heat is supposed to last, but it may last until the end of the week.
We might be into meteorological autumn, but it is giving us something a bit more summery that many of us have been missing.
