1. Trending colours: This year, several colours are trendy for a wedding:

-Aqua blue, or pastel blue: Pastel colours are always perfect for a wedding and this year, blue is the most popular choice. Feel free to use it with darker blues, such as duck-egg blue.

-Aubergine: This colour is beautiful but can quickly seem too depressing. Do not use it with blue, green or pink. Instead, opt for more neutral tones like brown, white or black. Aubergine is quite noticeable without doing too much.

-Fuchsia pink: Fuchsia has been popular for years but it can easily look tacky if overused. It is best used in small doses, alongside other colours in the same palette such as pale pink, orange or purple. Forget grey.

-Yellow: Like fuchsia, yellow is very trendy when used with care. Opt for lemon or sunflower tones and forget the pale yellow, which can be dull.

2. Decor: There are several popular decor themes, but the industrial trend stands out. To follow the trend, choose your place of reception such as an abandoned house or factory under construction. For decoration, favour metal: cans, aged, and peroxidized elements. Bulbs suspended above the tables have a great effect. For other trends, the rustic chic and the natural are always effective. In this case, choose neutral and natural tones, rather than pastels. And plenty of flowers!

3. The wedding menu:

- Food trucks: In recent years, more and more brides and grooms are using this type of service for their cocktails, or even for the dinner. The food truck brings a special atmosphere to a wedding and the guests particularly appreciate it.

- The buffet: These days, more and more couples are abandoning the sit-down dinner in favour of a buffet. This formula leaves more freedom to the guests and avoids waiting between courses.

- The dessert: The big trend is the 'naked cake'. It is simply a cake with several tiers, but without icing, so that the different layers are visible.

4. The wedding dress: THE big question for the bride. Lace is still trendy and many wedding dresses are available for all budgets. Chantilly lace is more delicate, and lace crochet is more 'natural'. The backless trend is also still very popular today. You can either let your hair fall down your back, or tie it up and choose a jewel to drape onto your back, for a sexier effect. But if you really want to be at the forefront of fashion, opt for a crop-top dress, that is to say a two-piece that reveals a small part of your belly. More and more designers are adopting this fashion.

5. Wedding favours: No more gifts bought wholesale on the internet. Focus on personalised gifts. Whilst not necessarily much more expensive, they are so much more special. You could choose small local crafts, or jars containing ingredients to make cookies. What's important is that the gift is accompanied by a small personalised label.

6. Reception venue: Besides the caterer, the reception venue is one of the most expensive parts of the budget to consider. The trend is for unusual venues, that everyone will remember for years to come. To choose, take into account the theme of marriage, and of course, the budget. Mansions, castles, farmhouses, and houseboats are trendy.

7. Calligraphy: Back to the basics of writing for all the stationery parts of your wedding - invitations, place settings, thank-you notes, etc. This year, calligraphy is in the spotlight. You can entrust this work to a professional or learn to do it yourself. Many tutorials are available on the internet.
